Janis, I have a Sarah Lazarus (ggg gmother) born abt. 1801 in London, and her father was Ralph Lazarus, a butcher. Obviously not the same immediate family, but the name repetition suggests a links (Sarah was very common, but Ralph/Raphael much less so) Ralph died young and probably did not have any other children, but I know he had at least one brother, Samuel Lazarus (Shmuel ben Moshe deFoe, from the Great Syn records - the link to Ralph is through their Hebrew names with the same father). Samuel married Elizabeth Nathan in 1798, but I have not tracked down their descendents. Thanks, David Levy
