    3. Hi everyone, I need help please with part of the inscription on my great grandmother's grave - "daughter of Aaron Zvi the Levite" Of course I understand the first three words but what does "Zvi the Levite" mean? Thanks in advance. Myra in sunny South Australia.

    3. His name is Aaron Tzvi. Tzvi is a form of Zev. You can get more information from Jewishgen's personal names page on their website. Levite's were the assistants to the rabbis and this was passed down through the generations. My grandfather and his brother were Levites.
