I have to concur with Sherry. A year or so ago, I contacted several MDs who also perform circumcisions and asked about records. Some kept them, some didn't. Some researchers tend to think that the procedure has some connection with synagogues, but it really is a matter between the family and the mohel. There may be a rabbi present, but one wouldn't normally expect to find a book of circumcisions amongst their records. Other than the date of the event itself, I can't see how it is useful in any other genealogical context. In closing I offer this story (perhaps apocryphal) of a mohel who was also a shochet. Apparently he was better qualified at the latter rather than the former and his work was always "recognizable." -- Jeremy G Frankel ex Edgware, London, England Berkeley, California, USA EBIN: Russia, New York, USA FRANKEL: Poland, London, England GOLDRATH/GOLD: Praszka, Poland, London, England KOENIGSBERG: Vilkaviskis, Lithuania, London, England, NYC, NY, USA LEVY (later LEADER): Kalisz, Poland, London, England PRINCZ/PRINCE: Krakow, Poland, London, England, NYC, NY, USA
