Thought some of you might be interested: Some genealogical sleuthing recently turned up a line of Gold/Gould cousins in Australia that I didn't know about. One (who stayed in England) turns out to the famous Tommy Gould, who was the only Jewish serviceman to be awarded the Victoria Cross in WW2. This jogged my father's memory, who said, "of course, the war hero Tommy Gould - he was at my barmitzvah!"
