    3. Keira, I don't know of any connections...yet...to South Africa, but I have both Lyon Abraham Hart (as opposed to your Abraham Lyon Hart), and Moss A. Hart (Lyon's son) as opposed to your Moses Alexander Hart. You don't give dates, but my Lyon Abraham Hart was also supposedly born in Devon, Exeter abt. 1826, but I have his son Moss A. Hart born in Southworth, London abt. 1856. My Lyon Abraham Hart had 14 known children, oddly enough, his two first born, were born in San Fransisco, CA, USA...Alfred A. Hart & Eva Hart....then they were back in the UK and the rest of the children were born in the UK You mention that it is Dulcie Jacob that is interested in this family. My Jacobs (Jacobs, not Jacob) family has a distant connection to the Hart line. Kinda strange, eh? If there's any possible connection, please respond. 3. Dear Listers, my grandfather Philip Hart, born about 1867 had a brother called Moss who went to Australia in about 1880. Their father was Michael Hart married to Celia Sarah Abendana. Their grandfather was Aaron Barnett Hart, born in 1788 in Middlesex, London. They lived most of the time around Goulston Streeet in the East End of London. I don't know if this is any help. At present I am away and have no records with me and am suing a lap top which I find very difficult. My only connection to S. Afrrica is that my father Marcus \cohen was born in Pierston andlived in Somerset East. |Best wishes, Louise----- Original Message ----- From: "LS" <mygen@sbcglobal.net> To: <british-jewry@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, March 23, 2008 5:15 AM Subject: Re: [BRITISH-JEWRY] Hart family > Keira, >

And not only did they not stay forever (some did, of course) but some, as in my family, came, left, and came back. My family went from Australia to the Gold Rush, then back to England in 1851, then back to the Gold Rush in 1853, resulting in children born in SF (1851), London (1852) and SF (1854).)
