Hello, My name is Roberta Eichenholz and I live in the United States. I read your email on British Jewry and saw you were researching the name Jacobs. My grandmother was a Jacobs her name was Esther Jacobs, her father's name was Solomon and her mother name was Sarah. One of the most common names that is possible. I have the marriage certificate of my grandmother and grandfather, Esther Jacobs married Harris Levy on the 17th of June 1902 at the Great Garden Synagogue in White chapel, London. Her address was listed as 21 Clark St and his as 19 Clark St. Harris' father is listed as deceased and Esther's's father is listed as Morris Jacobs. The witnesses are listed as Julius Marks for Harris Levy and Morris Jacobs (her father) for Esther I have a copy of the 1901 England census and found the entire family residing at 21 Clark Mile End Old Town as written on the marriage certificate. I cannot find any Harris Levy residing at 19 Clark Street so my thought is he came after the census was taken. Just wondered if there was any connection to your Jacobs line. If I already send you and inquiry I apologize as I am trying anyone with the Jacobs name. Have a nice day.
