re Isaac M Cohen: from encyclopedias of artists I have : Born Ballarat, Australia, 1884; s of Michael Cohen; m 1914, Edith (d 1940), d of Phillip Duke Mighell; died 25 Nov. 1951, lived London at Langton House, 35 Palace Gate, W8 After having completed his studies in Paris, he settled in London where he became a member of the Royal Society of Oil Painters and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. He was awarded the silver medal at the Salon, Paris in 1924 and the gold in 1932. I am interested because he made the pastel portrait of Dr Israel Abrahams which hangs in the LJS. He also painted the sons of Leonard G Montefiore in 1936. I imagine that Cohen was Jewish. Does anyone know any more biographical details and whether descendants survive? Bryan Diamond London NW8
