    1. [BRITISH-JEWRY] LEVY family - Passover Cake (Matzah) Bakers - London 1710-1942

    3. I am still researching my wife's LEVY family of Passover Cake (Matzoh) bakers who were baking in London from c.1710 to c.1942. If you have any connections to this family of Passover Cake Bakers, or to any other London-based Passover Cake or Matzah Bakers - as many of the families intermarried, then please do contact me. ApoIogies that I am resending this message but the previous version had the family name of LEVY incorrectly spelled in the subject line. Wishing all a healthy, happy and peaceful New Year. 3. I have replied to laurence off-list with detailed information, but listers might like to know you can search SynagogueScribes.com by "keyword Search" so you can use terms such as "baker" or "cake" as occupations sometimes form part of the Hebrew name. In the case of Matzot makers we note that Dr. Susser suggests that a "Redlamer" is a person who makes holes in Matzot. A search for "Redlam" produces 5 results. We recently updated the site so checking back from time to time might produce more hits than previous searches. We are also planning a major update for New Year with many new records dating back to 1776.
