I am researching my father's family in the US/England/Latvia and Poland. My Grandfather was Samuel Henry Harshfield who was born in Riga Latvia 4/22/approximately 1881/85 or 87 depending on the record. I have been able to identify that he had 9 siblings of whom 4 were alive in the 1911 UK Census, all born in Riga (three named - Annie, Fanny & Abey)> Samuel's parents were Jacob & Mary nee Levy. Jacob was born in Riga approximately 1846 and Mary also in Riga approximately 1881. I have no other info on Jacob or Mary and am looking for additional info. Samuel married Sarah Rose nee Abrahams in 1906 and had 7 siblings. Sarah was born approximately 12/25/1888 in Linchitz Poland to Abraham Abrahams in 1862 and Hannah(Hendel) nee Klarik in 1883 in Kalisz, Poland. I am looking for additional info on Abraham & Hannah's family. Her mother & father were Abraham Klarik & Esther Bach (both born in "Russia") Samuel & Sarah immigrated to the US in the 1910's/20's and Sarah's Mother Hendel and the other siblings immigrated in the 1910's to the US. Sarah noted that her aunt was Esther Bathanson on her ship record which I have identified as Esther Nathanson who lived at 13 St George Street, London E-1 who was married to Lewis but cannot identify the link to whom she was related. The Harshfield name was alternately spelled Hirschfield/Hershfield/Harshfild/Harshfeld/Herschfield depending on the document (sometimes 2 spellings on 1 document). It appears that both families immigrated to England somewhere in the 1880/90s and lived in Mile End Old Town, London. Any help would be appreciated. Steve Harshfield Orlando, FL
