I didn't have his marriage so I will add details, if you want to contact me off list, that would be good. Meanwhile you can find details of his parents and grandparents, on both sides, plus his siblings and aunts and uncles by going to http://www.british-jewry.org.uk/leedsjewry/index.php and entering SOMAN into the search engine. From census information (pls note that 1851 census information for his father, Philip, has been misindexed as 1861-so it looks like there are two 1861 entries) you'll see the father was a printer. Actually, he was proprietor of the Norwich Argus newspaper! http://www.historicaldirectories.org/hd/findbylocation.asp has some stuff. The London Gazette has a lot of entries for SOMAN and Norwich as a search. I haven't time now to look at them all, but I expect you'll find something there. http://www.gazettes-online.co.uk/issues/1841-01-01;1911-02-28/all=Soman+Norwich/start=1 Hope this is what you wanted. Don't forget to email me with AES's marriage details :-) best Sherry (Oxford, UK) Our website is at www.british-jewry.org.uk We update regularly. Let us know if you have ideas to offer.
