    3. Hi, I'm searching for my great-grandmother Maria JONES, born abt 1860 Birmingham. According to her eldest grandaughter (my father's cousin), Maria was Jewish, and her mother's name was Sarah/Selina LEVY. Apparently her mother was ousted from the family for marrying outside her faith. Maria did not raise any of her children Jewish. Maria's marriage certifacte to my great-grandfather William WALTERS 25 Dec 1885 states that Maria's father was Levi JONES, a pearl button maker. I have found who I think is Levi - he married Catherine DAVEY and had several children. Maria never appears with this family on any census, and I have searched the GRO for birth certs with father Levi and found none. Perhaps Maria was illegitimate - I don't know. I have found Maria lodging with the Eli WORWOOD family in 1881 but cannot find her before then. Does Maria ring any bells with anyone? I have been searching for her for several years and cannot think where else to look. thanks, Sally Walters BC Canada

    3.  Searching: RAYKH-ZELIGMAN/RICHMAN, Stakliskes, Lithuania/Leeds COHEN, Sakiai, Lithuania/Leeds MAGIDOWITZ, Jurbarkas, Lithuania/Leeds KASSIMOFF, Rezekne, Latvia/Leeds Hi, Could it be that she changed her first name to Marie upon marrying? Is there a Miriam on the census?  How many girls are there for Levi?  Can you trace any of their decesdants?
