Hi Naomi, My ancestors came to Leeds c. 1905 from Rezekne also known as: Rēzekne [Latv], Rositten [Ger], Rezhitsa [Rus], Rezhitse [Yid], Rzeżyca [Pol], Rėzeknė [Lith], Räisaku [Est], Režica, Ryezhitsa It is not too far from the Latvian Lithuanian present border. Rēzekne, Latvia: 56°30' N, 27°19' E If you go to JewishGen (am I allowed to mention that....) and type in REZEKNE in town searches, you will get a good source of information. My grandfather thought his grandparents came from Lithuania. However, I can't find a record of any town called Rezito in Lithuania or in that border area.
