This is not strictly correct. There are some incoming passenger manifests for ships from Europe. I think it falls under BT 26. Ancestry have digitised these records and the collection is available on UK Incoming Passenger Lists, 1878-1960 . Searching is free but there is a fee to view the records. See http://yourarchives.nationalarchives.gov.uk/index.php?title=BT_26 In my family I found details of the incoming ship name and date from the records of the Poor Jews' Temporary Shelter, and with this detail was able to locate the actual manifest. Saul According to the "Scope and Content" section of BT 26 on the page you linked, my statement was correct. That section states in relevant part: "of passengers entering the United Kingdom by sea from ports outside Europe and the Mediterranean." Likewise Ancestry.com describes the collection as: "This database is an index to the Board of Trades passenger lists of ships arriving in the United Kingdom from foreign ports outside of Europe and the Mediterranean." You do not say where your family emigrated from. I can only report on what I read in doing the research. Has anyone else found exceptions to the published limitation? Bob Moss Chicago, IL.
