In case it does anyone else some good, here's information sent by Gina Marks from the list, who seems to have provided the necessary clue. Of the Salomon photographers listed at the site she points to, Herman Salomon seems like a good bet. He shows up in the 1891 census, age 30, at 146 Stoke Newington Road, with occupation "Artist, Portraiture, Sculp".
