    1. [BRITISH-JEWRY] James LEVEY - in Canada?
    2. Ann Linder
    3. I am posting this on British SIG also as there is a London connection. In Canada, looking for possible descendants of Mr & Mrs. James Levey. James Levey (1883-1957) was a renowned violinist, born and raised in London. From 1917-1927 he was 1st Violin with the London String Quartet. James Levey taught and also performed with many music groups including the Royal Albert Hall Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, & the Hart House String Quartet. He traveled the globe but I’m hypothesizing that he settled in Canada because in 1976, his widow (first name unknown) donated material on his career to the Music Archives of the National Library of Canada. I have found a description of the material on the website and I have emailed the Nat’l Library to determine how I can access/view it. I am interested primarily in his biography and his lineage. I found several references to his stellar career on the internet including a wike search, but no detailed bio. Facebook has some Wengiers but I would like to use other methods first. I would like to find out if James had children so that I can connect with them to determine if photos exist of my great grandmother’s sister Sura. Sura married James' father In London in the early 1900s (was a 2nd marriage for both of them). -- Kindest Regards, Ann Florida USA
