    3. Found some more info on the marriage of Jacob LEWIS and Jane/Fanny SMITH, 4th Dec 1885.The details available on line are slightly incorrect. Jacob's Hebrew name is Yakov Arieh son of Azriel Zelig. Jane's Hebrew name is Feiga Rosa daughter of Akiva, not Reva. The address was 35 Van Dyke Street, Leeds, and she came from her father's home so it implies he was still alive in November, 1885. The Hebrew on the marriage authorisation is not easy to read, but Jacob had at least one brother, Dov Ber, and possibly another called Yehudah Leib. Dov Ber may have used the name of David, Barnet, Benjamin or Bernard LEWIS. If it's factual that Jacob had three brothers, I would assume that at least Dov Ber was also in Leeds. The MA does say where Jacob and Jane came from originally, both are place names, but the writing is very feint. In 1911, Jacob was a Slipper Manufacturer Employer and he was naturalised in 1894, so I think it must be the same Jacob who shows on the UK Archives on line of 19 Brunswick St, Leeds. The address in 1911 was 32 Darley St,North St,Leeds and there were six rooms in the property. If anyone is searching for LEWIS and SMITH living in Leeds at some stage, they might well be connected to your family Judi. <Searching Jacob Lewis b. 1864 wife Fanny Smith b. 1864 Judi Conway, USA> Naomi Ogin Brisbane
