I see that Hilary Thomas has Phillips ancestors, as we do (see email below). We are stumped, and hopefully he, and others, may lend a hand. My wife's GG-Grandfather was David Aaron PHILLIPS. . . . . . he married Catherine ISAACS. I have very little info about both David and Catherine. Would love to find their parents' names, where they were born, and other info about them. David married Catherine 22 June, 1831, at the Great Synagogue in London, two years before their first child, Sophia was born, in Jamaica. So, the two of them probably emigrated from England to Jamaica between 1831 and 1833. He died 4 Aug, 1856, and she died March 26 1875. Both died in Kingston, Jamaica, and are buried there. She is referred to in the Jamaican synagogue records re her children's births as "Kate." Their son, Emanuel, my wife's G-Grandfather, came to Louisiana, US, in 1859. He married Fanny Kreeger and died here in New Orleans. David and Kate's marriage records show that his father's Hebrew name was Aryeh Shirga Pais; her Hebrew name was Keila, and her father's was Issachar Behr.
