    3. Hi All, I have a marriage Certificate for one of my Ancestors dated 1850 which gives the Groom, Abraham Aaarons, Occupation as "Traveller". It also lists his father Joseph as a "Traveller". Could anyone tell me what this occupation entailed please. Also on the certificate his address is given as "Ironmongers Row". Can someone tell me whereabouts in London this would have been. By 1850 with the coming of the railways all over UK most likely meaning of traveller was either salesman for a firm or commercial traveller who were often away from home- if you look up 1851 census you will find they were away from home a lot and are listed wherever they were staying.
