I have not been able to find a birth in that name but have found an Ambrose Jabez Jacobs born in 1848 Lambeth. Could this be the same person ie is James an anglicised form of Jabez cheers Sheila

Marriage 3 June 1809. I cannot find the corresponding information for the bride's parents! (Ancestry.com). Barbara Zimmer > when I get time and see if Alfred is lurking there. It's not just me, but the 'experts' all recommend Gmail. 10Gb capacity free as far as I remember, IMAP or POP3 and most importantly a form of dual key authentication so that if anyone tired to log in from a new location [IP address] or computer a code is texted to your mobile and this this to be entered to log in. 3. Thanks. At the moment I can't prove the link but will go to genealogie.com when I get time and see if Alfred is lurking there. I was unsure whether CHOIRON was her surname or first name. In France it's more normal to have married women enumerated under their maiden name (apart it seems in Marseille where they weren't unless the surname and the maiden name of the women I recently found was the same)! Complications, complications and a busy working week, frustrating. All my emails are in my laptop and the people and organizations I frequently am in contact with have their own filtered in/out boxes. If there are any power outages, I can still access all my emails. A certain big genealogy site lists two Joseph Marks, born about 1817, residing in Devon (Nancy was from Exeter) in the 1851 census. I'd like to know if either were born in Poland, or indeed if there is any Joseph Marks born circa 1819 in Poland in the 1851 census. If some kind soul would check these for me - I'm sure I have in the past, but I'd like to recheck them - I'd be very grateful. Joseph doesn't seem to have been naturalized, so no joy there. In the 1881 census for Birmingham and in 1890 in London, according to his death certificate, he was a Hebrew teacher, but I haven't been able to find out where. Any fresh thoughts most welcome. 1. [BRITISH-JEWRY] Recent Spam Problems
    2. Jackye Sullins
    3. This is posted on behalf of Nancy Goldberg - nancygoldberg05@ca.rr.com. Several times this week, I have received spam messages supposedly from British-Jewry. I have also received such messages supposedly from a cousin, and supposedly from a friend. All are from Yahoo addresses. An IT person said Yahoo is particularly susceptible to addresses being hijacked because they don't have good security. Per Jackye, 3 of the 4 recent Brit-Jewry spams had Yahoo addresses; she also mentioned AOL. If you have a Yahoo or AOL address, you may want to pressure them to step up security, or consider changing providers. Nancy Goldberg
