I am hoping someone on this group will be able to help me with finding information on a QUICK family from St.Ives. I have Billy Noal QUICK who came to Australia in Dec 1857 on the "Ebba Brahe" with his wife Elizabeth and children Richard, Elizabeth, Grace and William. His age according to the shipping list is 38, making him born around 1819. By his death certificate in 1876 there is no age, but he had been in this colony 19 years, was married at 21 years to Elizabeth Hosking and his parents were Richard Quick and Elizabeth Daniel. My problem is, what was his real name as there are no Billy Quick's in the IGI and presumably he might have been William, (there are over 400 William Quick's baptised in the British Isles by the IGI) which is too vague to request a birth registration.
