Am really interested in the WHITTLE surname as I have very little re it...we believe that Mary Whittle, wife of Wm Holden, parents were a Joseph and Catherine Whittle but not positive..Joseph Whittle was br in Pinkith according to the 1841 & 51 census...possible siblings of Mary Whittle were John and Ellen..all br in the very early 1800's ...baptized at Prescot Parish Church according to the registers Joseph and Catherine Whittle lived in Sutton St Helens, Lancs.
