There was an alliance (marriage) between these two families in early Maryland, USA history. I am wondering if perhaps there was also a previous alliance in England. Also the name HUTCHISON seems to crop up. These Middletons, I believe probably went straight to Va, and then Md. Although, there were some very prominent ones in SC. Do not know if they were related. Any help, suggestions, etc., very much appreciated. Thanks, Shirley Reed [email protected]

Recently I discovered in the SC 1860 census that a Middleton HENNINGHAM was residing in the same residence as an ancestor of mine in the Charleston District, St. John's Berkley Place named Josiah HENNINGHAM, who had come over from Southwark twelve years prior. There are also references to a Heningham MIDDLETON in Virginia records that was involved with a plantation restoration later in the same century. The census page is on its way to me and if you are interested in any further information please let me know. Michael Heningham Shrewsbury, MA
