Hello I am tracing my paternal family tree the surname being Panting. My great grandfather (Thomas Panting) was born in Consett, Co. Durham in 1871, he married (or lived with as husband and wife) a Jane Stobbs who was born in Dipton, Co, Durham in 1876/1877. Their children were all as far as I know born at her families home in Consett. I can not find any record of a marriage, or a death for Jane, whom I am told died in the early 1900's. Thomas's father was a Charles Panting born in Fairford, Gloucester in 1826/1827, he married a Phillis Smith born in Ebchester, nr. Consett Co. Durham in 1840/1841.
