Found this on http://www.cf.ac.uk/archi/howshall/arthurm/costume/costume.html Baldric (Baldrick) A leather belt or silk sash, usually richly ornamented. It was worn around the body over one shoulder to the opposite hip to carry a sword, dagger, pouch, etc. Baldric's were worn from the 1340's. In the tale or Gawain and the Green knight it says all knights of the round table wore a green baldric to commemorate that adventure. from http://www.bibliomania.com/Reference/Webster/data/115.html Baldric (Bal"dric) n.
