Hello, I am a new lister and would like to post my interests. I descend from the WASHINGTON, WRIGHT and MOTTRUM families who emigrated to America (Northumberland County, Virginia) in the 1600s. My WASHINGTON immigrant is Col John WASHINGTON who is also the great grandfather of President George WASHINGTON. My WRIGHT immigrant is Capt Richard WRIGHT (d 1666, VA) son of Rev Francis WRIGHT & Anne MERRITON/MERYTON of Bolton-on-Swale. Anne MERYTON was the daughter of Rev George MERYTON, Dean of York. My Mottrum Ancestor is Col John MOTTRUM who died in VA in 1655. He was the first settler in Northumberland County VA and gave the county it's name. His estate was named Coan Hall.
