Does anyone have info as to why some Irish Protestant and "Scotch Irish" ancestors left northern Ireland and migrated to the British colony of VIRGINIA in the early 1700s? I hear the BATTLE OF THE BOYNE (1690) had something to do with people's decision to leave northern Ireland and migrate to Virginia. My ancestor WILLIAM RICE was born in Virginia about 1750.
