They were from the Sunderland area, and were the sons of James LAIDLER . They were :- William LAIDLER born 1826. James LAIDLER born 1831. Robert LAIDLER born 1834. William and James stayed in Australia, but Robert returned to England and became a miner, and on January 29 -1868. at the Parish Church at Dalton-Le-Dale, County Durham, he married Isabella GIBBS, his Father James LAIDLER was one of the witnesses. Robert and Isabella lived at Merton Road Colliery, where they raised five children :- 1. Elizabeth Ann b. 1869. 2. Isabella Gray b. 1870. 3. Margery Jane b. 1873. 4. Robert b. 1876. 5. James Henry b. 1880. Their son Robert LAIDLER born 1876, was married in 1897, to my Father's sister, Florence Gertrude RENNEY, born 1879, and they lived at 6, Thompson Street, Stranton. West Hartlepool, where they raised a family. A daughter Phyllis, born 1898 and son Charles Frederick born in 1901. Possibly more children. Anyone recognise a name yet???
