I am searching for Blankenship and Johnson families who immigrated to the US very early and homesteaded in Virginia. I believe the Blankenships came through North Carolina; I cannot determine the route of the Johnsons. Prominent first names were common ones, especially William Blankenship and Thomas Johnson.
