Where are the SHACKELFORDS from? And how many ended up in the USA? Could there be more someplace else? Other spellings I've seen so far include ShacK-L-Eford, Shakelford, etc. - a good name to mess up bad. Seem to be loads of Shackelfords/Shacklefords, etc. in KY and MO. Which probably means they came from VIRGINIA - from which state of KY was made. Some of the KY ones moved further West to MO. Arguably the most famous SHACKELFORD in USA is actor TED S. who does come from KENTUCKY. In my bunch, related names may be YANCY and NICHOLS; also MILLER which was probably German. Any help much appreciated. Marian Douglas dasha@unet.com.mk
