    3. Hello Listers I am having great difficulties in establishing the Avenell line in Swindon.,as it would appear both parents were born out of wedlock, according to the marriage certificate which I hold. The husband, Robert Avenell, was born 1818 in Swindon, has obviously taken his mothers surname and this is the person I am trying to find.In BVVI I have found a possible mother Hannah born 1802 in Swindon out of Richard and Hannah Avenell. She was the first born and a further Hannah was born in 1814.Can SKS give a possible reason for this.?Warm regards Jenny

    1. [BRITNAMES] Helen MCINTYRE marriage to Brand
    2. perle harvey
    3. Hi List, I have a gggrandmother Helen Bowie, who married Finlay McIntyre in 1844 in Edinburgh. He died in 1859 in Edinburgh and she remarried to somebody Banks. He must have died within a short time after the marriage as she married William Reynolds in London in 1865. Does anyone have a relative Banks who married the widow Helen McIntyre and died soon after the marriage. Reynolds was a soldier, and there were some Banks soldiers in the Scots Guards, but I don't know who they were. William Reynolds and Helen Banks marriage cert. states that he was a soldier and she was a widow. ANY help would be appreciated. Perle in Australia

    3. Hi folks, I am trying to find a lady called MRS. AMELIA WADKIN b. 1824 Huddersfield, Yorks. I found her on the 1851 census for STRETFORD, Lancs. She was a 39 yr. old widow and lived at St. Andrews Terrace, Chester Road, Stretford, she was living with a John Davis (61 yrs.) who was a dependant relative. The reason I want to track her down is - she was a witness at my 2x grt. grandfather's wedding and she had his 5 yr. old son to stay with her in 1851. My 2 x grt. grandfather was Charles AXON. I have tried looking for a marriage through the Wadkin name, as I don't know her maiden name I am a bit stumped. So could someone be kind enough to help me out here. Any help much appreciated. Beryl Gebbie

    3. This family are all in USA, details below as in obituary and slight family memory. Researching the family of Agnes Violet Scott who married Richard Rainville and had a son and a daughter, Mary and Richard. Also according to her obituary (Oct 1970) she had 8 Grandchildren. Agnes married twice the second time to Fred Estelle, no children. She died at Binghamton. (NY ?) Her daughter Mary married Wayne Barber and they had two children Scott and Susan. Mary married a second time to Richard (I believe that is the correct name) Freeman and there was one child. He died not very long after they married. In Agnes orbit her son Richard is described as being in Mansfield, Mass. I can only guess that would be Massachusetts.

You then need to access the microfilms, in UK they are at Guildhall, Newspaper Library, Colindale, North London and some County records offices have it, although not always the early ones. They do have it at Aylesbury Local Studies library. Some overseas correspondents have told me that they can access it over there, I've heard that it is in the Sydney, Darwin, Toronto, Edmonton, Alberta Libraries. Has anyone any information on Anthony GERRISH born abt 1722 in Broughton Glifford, Wiltshire, Somerset, UK Buried: 15th April 1761 Father: Anthony GERRISH *Baptised abt 15 days before his death*.
