    1. [BRITNAMES] Re: Bottomley Family
    2. jedp
    3. James Bottomley was stationed at Dumbarton Castle where he was a gunner in the Royal Artillery. He married in l868 Mary Hayman, place of birth Ireland. One of their children was Thomas James Bottomley, my mother's father, born October l872. James Bottomley died in l880. His father was Thomas Bottomley and his mother Mary Bridges, both of whom were deceased at the time of James' l868 marriage. Where was James Bottomley born? Did he have siblings? Where was his father Thomas Bottomley born and when? This is a line that so far has baffled us to trace. James Pearsall East Millstone, NJ USA

Recently I discovered in the SC 1860 census that a Middleton HENNINGHAM was residing in the same residence as an ancestor of mine in the Charleston District, St. John's Berkley Place named Josiah HENNINGHAM, who had come over from Southwark twelve years prior. There are also references to a Heningham MIDDLETON in Virginia records that was involved with a plantation restoration later in the same century. The census page is on its way to me and if you are interested in any further information please let me know. Michael Heningham Shrewsbury, MA
