    2. Has anyone a Jacob Baker in their family, who migrated to the states around 1860? The problem is that his family may have left England, and gone to Germany, and he may have been born there, and then come to the states. I'm up against a brick wall, trying to find him. He enlisted in the Army for the Civil War in 1863, in Ohio. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

    1. [BRITNAMES] Liverpool, Lancashire BAMFORD's mid-1800's
    2. Kethera
    3. Greetings, I've recently found out that my gg-grandfather Thomas BAMFORD (b. 4 Feb 1861 in Liverpool, Eng; d. 28 Feb 1841 in Victoria, BC, Canada), who married Violet Jane CARMICHAEL (b.Abt. 1864 in Toronto, ON; d. 6 Jan 1933 in Victoria, BC), had the following parents: Robert BAMFORD and Elizabeth HOUGH, as listed on Thomas' marriage certificate to Violet. I have found a Thomas BAMFORD at familysearch.org who was Christened on 14 Apr 1861 at Saint Peter, Liverpool, Lancashire, England, and I highly suspect it is the same person. It also listed the parents as Robert Bamford and Elizabeth on the website. Following this trend I tried to see how many other BAMFORDs were listed as Christened at Saint Peter whose parents were Robert and Elizabeth. I was able to find a Robert BAMFORD christened 15 Sep 1850 at Saint Peter, Liverpool, Lancashire, England; Emma BAMFORD christened 18 Oct 1857 at Saint Peter; and a George BAMFORD christened 25 Nov 1867 at Saint Peter. There could be others, but I was only able to go up to 6000 entries and it would not let me search beyond that. If these people all belong to the same family (and this is ALL *speculation* at this point), then Robert and Elizabeth (HOUGH) BAMFORD had at least four children: Robert christened in 1850 Emma christened in 1857 Thomas christened in 1861 George christened in 1867 Do these names sound familiar to anyone? Does anyone have access to a Liverpool census that could take a look to see if this family is on there in 1861 or 1871? I live in Canada so I do not have easy access to this. My gg-grandfather Thomas moved to Canada and married in 1882 in Vancouver, BC. It's more then possible that his siblings could have moved around as well. Or they could still have descendants in England, somewhere. Please, any help or suggestions to follow this up would be appreciated. For information of Thomas's descendants, feel free to take a look at my familytree database, url listed in my signature file. Take care, Melissa Kluey My location: Delta, BC, Canada (grew up in Ontario, Canada) Researching: check webpage: http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=kethera === Need a little extra cash?
