Has any one come across the name STRONGMONGER? I have an Elizabeth Strongmonger marrying William Aston in London in 1814 (on the IGI). The name is difficult to decipher on the PR entry and I have not found any other references to the name at all. Hi, The furthest back I can go on this one is a JUDE who was a taylor in Bury St. Edmunds in the mid-nineteenth century. His son was Ernest Walter (b. Brixton, 1893), who had a brother Harry. These brothers had a grocery shop in Isleworth (London). Ernest's son is my father-in-law. Ernest's wife was Florence Alice RANDELL (Portsmouth area?). I am helping a friend research the following names....... Walter James MEDWAY b. 1863, Hamworthy, Dorset, England Mary Jane MEDWAY (born SCOTT) b.c1865 possibly at Cranbourne Dorset. They had 13 children, nine of whom died, possibly in infancy..am checking these out on the GRO. Walter James MEDWAY seems to have stayed in Dorset, for some of his children 's births were registered in Poole, Dorset. The family moved from Dorset between 1895 and 1897 and moved to the Greenwich, London area. My grandfather, Samuel Henry Jones was married to a Charlotte Walker. Since both my grandparents lived around Dudley, England in the late 1800's and 1900-1950?, Their address in 1911 was 1, The Barracks, stafford Street, Dudley.I am trying to find out possibly where they were married, when and where they might be buried.
