Hi Laurraine >I am new to the list and am posting my interest in the names for the first time. All information welcome. > >TEARLE >TIREL >TYRELL >TYRRELL >TIRRELL >TERRELL Since you've found so many variants, maybe you've already found the TYRRELL society - but in case not, Arthur TYRRELL is registered with the Guild of One-Name Studies as carrying out a one-name study for the name - he's also the contact for the society. See the register of the Guild at http://www.one-name.org/ for his details. -- Wendy Archer [email protected] Marlow, Bucks, UK List owner - [email protected] Oxfordshire GenWeb coordinator http://www.rootsweb.com/~engoxf/

Hi Robyn, you are the only person that I know of besides myself that is searching for JOYs. My JOY surname has been a real dead end for me. My GG Grandfather's name was John Wardner Joy. Wardner said to have been a family surname used often as a given name. He was born July 20, 1808 in England. Married Mary Macey Sept. 20, 1840, in England according to the LDS IGI records. Came to US in mid 1800s and settled in Ray Co. Missouri and bought land and raised a family. Said to have been from: Dorset, Wiltshire, Salisbury, or Sheffield, take your pick. He and Mary had 3 sons: Frederick Wardner, John Gray, (my g grandfather) and Jasper Sabin. They also had a daughter: Charlotte E. Gray, Sabin, Jasper and Frederick also names often used in the family. If any of this rings a bell, or if you know of any Joy/Wardner connection, please let me know. Most grateful for any help, it has been a LLllllooonngg search. Thanks in advance to anyone out there.
