Hi again Mike >From my memory of looking at the early poll books that used to be on the open shelves at Bristol Central Library, the voters were listed in wards or parishes so you would have to go through each one to find where your ancestor voted from, and for whom during any particular year. There was also a section for country voters at the end of the books if I remember correctly. The Central Library or BRO may be able to tell you if the system changed at any time during the 19th century. Sorry I can't really help here.
