Hi Chris, There are lots of pre 1837 Bristol records at Family search. I can find several of my BECHER family pre 1837 if I look for them as residing at "Bristol, Gloucester, England". Not all the records that I know exist can be found there though, so it is not a complete set >From Jenny, Sydney, Australia My Family History Website: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~becher/index.htm -----Original Message----- From: Chris Jefferies Sent: Friday, July 13, 2012 7:57 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [B&S] Marriage 1835 at St James Bristol between Samuel Stevens& Elizabeth Griffiths They are replacing the data with much more reliable transcriptions of entire sets of parish records so it now contains the entire set of Bristol parish records 1837-1900 and beyond. They have not transcribed pre 1837 records presumably because B&A FHS have transcribed 1754-1837 parish records and they do work closely with local FHS so pre 1837 Bristol parish records may eventually get into Family Search. I have only just noticed that the "Household" transcription is now displayed when you select a person found in the Family Search 1871 census. This is now similar to the 1881 census which has been free on line for many years but unfortunately the 1871 does not list "Occupation" or "Marital State". I think it was transcribed recently as part of the Family Search Indexing Project and is currently 81% complete. You are still directed to Findmypast if you want to view the original image.
