Thank you Jean Our project has almost come to a "finish", and yes, correct below. Three children of George Pocock, Senior, the school master of Prospect Place Academy in St. Michael's, Bristol married three children of David Rees of Haverfordwest, Wales. I have no evidence, but is seems most likely that one or two of David Rees' sons attended Pocock's boarding school .... or he met the Rees family on one of his Methodist preaching trips to Wales. Maybe someone might have access to records to help prove one or the other; either at George Pocock's boarding school in Church Lane 1795 to 1799; or when he moved into Prospect Place Academy, off Lower Church Lane in 1800, when vacated by Rev. Dan Keith. The Henry Mills Grace you mentioned below, married another of George Pocock's children, Martha Pocock. As for Dr. W.G. Grace, his wife Agnes Nicholls Day, was the daughter of Elizabeth Rees and William Day. Elizabeth Rees was the daughter of Dr. James Rees and Elizabeth Pocock ... yes, another relative. The project is not being published, but hopefully, will be a suitably resourced document to answer some of the intermarriages that took place thereafter. I still welcome photos, newspaper clippings etc as they help to try and name some of the people in the old cricket photos etc. Keith -----Original Message----- From: bristol_and_somerset-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:bristol_and_somerset-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Jean Wood Sent: Saturday, 30 November 2013 10:59 PM To: B & S rootsweb Subject: [B&S] GRACE & POCOCK grave photo This made me think. WG Grace the cricketer was a doctor so I looked him up. His father was Henry Mills Grace ( I THINK also a doctor) and his mother was Martha Pocock... So I presume WG may be a cousin to your family/the family you are tracing? Jean Wood
