Hi all, I totally agree with sentiments on the ungrateful nature of some people who engage in Family History. The rude ones clearly are made that way and have no concept of the unspoken etiquette we all adhere to; saying 'thank you' and not making living persons details public, or using other people's research without permission/awknowledgement. I too have come across such people, but I have also come across some remarkably generous people - including the gentleman who sent me a package containing copies of my Great grandfather's World War One Army records. He was in fact entirely unknown to me, and sent it at his own expense out of the goodness of his heart. You can imagine how it made me feel. I like to think that in the world of Family History, such generosity outweighs the ungrateful. After all, we have one of our own, her name's Josephine....;)! I know how things are when you have an old computer hope you can get the newer one working well again soon. Haven't done much lately other things have kept me from doing our addiction ( Family History). Still some gaps in the Chidgey family some of the sibling info needs tracking down, but have found more Randall info most of the census with the help of you and other and did make contact with a distant Chidgey line. Still haven't answered my question why John and Louisa went to London to be married? Their 3 eldest children were born in London and their other 6 in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. Well that's as what the censuses list. Health things in my family have taken lots of my time with medical appointments for the whole family and my mum health has been very bad over the last couple of years and I had to also take her for lots of medical appointments. Things we getting harder for her in her home so last year we sold the family home of 43 yrs (since being in Aust.) The house bought her a nice unit in a retirement village a little close to us. She now has vascular disease, artery blocked in her legs and bad arthritis in both hands. Making things very hard for her but this was the closest she would except to a nursing home (which is really what she needs) still living independently but means a lot on my shoulders and i have health problems too. You wouldn't think that I have siblings but i do though 2 live in the country and cry time poor and the other doesn't have a car or public transport near to her and mum. Cheryl stop complaining! Well a Happy New Year to you. This morning I have already started looking at another interesting Bristol family so I am back on track. Research is a bit slow, though, as the computer I'm working on at the moment is very slow, but I'm getting there. I hope your CHIDGEY and RANDALL research in Bristol is going well. Top right (northeast?) corner of G3 on that map. Thanks! I had read that it was replaced since then.
