Another useful free site is Dusty Docs - http://dustydocs.com/ this leads you to another transcription of the Lydiard St Lawrence Marriages - which also gives 2nd Aug http://dustydocs.com/link/33/34392/115570/baptisms-1573-1903-marriages-1573-1883-burials-1573-1883.html as does Familysearch https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/NXQ3-342 but this gives name as Robt. SIDERSON Cheers Pat ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paddy Buckley" <paddy.buckley@lineone.net> To: <bristol_and_somerset@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, January 17, 2014 2:24 PM Subject: Re: [B&S] Siderfin of Luxborough & Croydon Thank you Pat. You have pointed me to the right marriage. Now why didn't I find it myself? Earlier, on Findmypast there were 11 Robert Sinderfin marriages listed but I had forgotten to click (or just didn't see) the correct one for 1713. As for FreeReg, I must now use it more often; I have got into the habit of relying too much on subscription services. But there is an anomaly; two different dates for the same marriage: Findmypast has 11 June 1713; (using Transcriptions © Somerset & Dorset Family History Society); FreeReg has 2 August 1713 and has more details about the bride. So I shall favour FreeReg. Paddy Buckley
I believe the FreeReg version is that supplied by David Cheek. Dusty Docs only "link" you to sites and have no records themselves. Jim
