Hi Listers, I have been wondering how other countries are going to commemorate the Great War. It was such a mighty conflict that there will surely be television programmes about it in the countries involved. No doubt, there will be many revelations as the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the the Great War draws near. Josephine

    3. I suspect the series will find its way overseas relatively quickly There will be a greater interest this year than any other I would say TV series seem to make it abroad in both directions much quicker than they used to in the past I watched it last night and it was very good, I do not think anyone will be overly shocked at any of the content but it was interesting all the same I have no doubt there will be many more programs on the subject this year, both here and around the world, there can be few if any places not effected by the "War to end all Wars" It is fitting that those that fought for our freedom should not be forgotten, so the more the better IMHO On the subject of The Great War, I haven't seen the following mentioned of late <http://www.oucs.ox.ac.uk/ww1lit/> Two collections, one of poetry, letters and other items plus the Great War Archive consisting of items contributed by the general public Its well worth searching and or browsing Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK)
