Hi Jenny, In the Bristol Apprenticeship Books Volumes 1(o) to 1 (z) Index & Transcripts 1724-2009, I see that Michael BECHER is in the Master's Name Index three times. He is listed as Merchant, in 1738, as Esquire, in 1745 and as Esquire & Merchant in 1749. As Michael BESHER is listed as Esquire in 1750, it does seem likely that he was the Michael BECHER in your family. There are no other BESHERs in the Master's Name Index. > I must contact Bristol Council to see if there is any chance of getting a > copy of the BECHER journal. I expect you feel like getting on a plane and coming over here just to take a look at Cranfield BECHER's journal! Josephine
