    3. Today, I had an off-list message about the parish in which Picton Street, Bristol was situated. My reply was that some of Picton Street was in the parish of St. Barnabas and some in the parish of St. Andrew, Montpelier, in 1911, though I don't know what the situation would have been earlier. In 1911, the odd numbers of Picton Street 1-39 were in the parish of St. Barnabas, while the even numbers 2-58 and the odd numbers 41-49 were in the parish of St. Andrew. Montpelier. Hi Chris, Following your link for Picton Street, I took my first 'walk'. I can see what you mean about 'with a little practice' because the little man wouldn't do what I wanted at first. Now I have the hang of it. I've had a look at Downend, including your grandparents' house in Salisbury Gardens, Downend, South Gloucestershire. I can see that looking at places in this way could get quite addictive. Already it's lunchtime and I haven't done anything today, except look at my computer:-) Josephine -- Josephine Jeremiah www.ianandjo.dsl.pipex.com
