I've looked at other Welsh surnames in my tree, such as LLEWELLYN, and they are shown as Welsh. The 1881 map shows South Wales as the location of people with the surname JEREMIAH. No concentrations of people called JEREMIAH are shown in England on this map. The 1998 map shows that highest concentrations of people with the surname JEREMIAH are still in South Wales, where JEREMIAH as a surname is said to have originated.
