Here's a snippet to add to Bernice's information. Despite the great number of people living in Bedminster, there were only 47 people eligible to vote in Bedminster in the 1832 Somerset election. The abode of nine was Bedminster, while one lived at Bedminster Down and nine lived at Bishport (Bishopsworth).
