    3. Thanks for the link, Josephine. I hadn't seen it. That would make sense because we lived in Chipping Sodbury during the war. In 1943, we lived in the Rectory in Chipping Sodbury. I remember an air raid and sitting in the living room with curtains drawn, in the darkness. As I've posted before, this experience was one of my earliest recollections. I can still hear the wail of the sirens in my head.
