Interesting to see the prices for the hotel in 1901 - I wonder what they were in 1881 - my first cousin twice removed on Henry George Meloney aged 17 was an assistant bookkeeper there in the 1881 Census ..........the book keeper was an Harriett Gerrick aged 24 and the occupation of one of the staff Thomas Croad of Sherborne was given as ' billiard marker '.
