I think in general you should only trust items with IGI batches beginning C for christening and M for marriage plus E and P I think are from mixed registers. These tend to be from a proper transcription of the parish register. Information from batches starting with other letters or no letter are entries submitted by church members and are often of dubious accuracy so the actual parish register should be checked to see if there is such an entry.
