    1. [B&S] Henry BRYANT b 1851 Dunster

    3. Hello. I am new to this list. I have a document dated 21 Jan 1867 which is a certified copy of the parish entry from 1851 baps. It seems that Henry would have been 16 yo. His father was James, a labourer. His mother was "Elizabeth". The person who signed the copy is the Minister of Dunster. Looks like Luttrell? The same minister who officiated at the orig bapt. 1, I would welcome suggestions as to why this document had to be obtained at that time. For an apprenticeship? For military service? Or by an institution for the boy to be put out to work? I'm not even sure where the family was in 1867 as I've not found them on the 1861C when he would have been 10yo. 2. Does SKS have access to the Dunster marriage PRs and would be willing to look for a marriage between James BRYANT and an "Elizabeth", please? Say, 1848-1851. I would be very grateful. It's possible that the bride came from there, but I do not have a "maiden" name, and although the couple may have moved away, like many daughters, their children are often taken back to be baptised. I have him in the 1881C and 1901C in Sutton, Surrey. Not found in 1891C. Henry appears to have married twice. 1889 and 1876. But it is those early years I would like to trace. All tips and suggestions welcomed. Always happy to share info if there is a connection to anyone. Thank you. Joan.
