Hi Janine, You could perhaps find out more about where your ancestor lived. You mentioned Blackfriars Road. I don't know of a Blackfriars Road in Bristol in 1841, but I do know of Blackfriars. At that time, Blackfriars was at census reference HO 107/372 Book Number 6 Folio 27-32. If you have access to the 1841 census, you could have a look at Blackfriars to see the families who lived there and to find out the trades of the inhabitants.
