    3. At the beginning of the week, I was just about to start a reading break from family history when I received a message from someone researching my Bitton GULLY family, who had picked up my name from the Bitton Families web site: http://www.bittonfamilies.com/ Sifting through my GULLY notes, which were made a number of years ago, I discovered that there are a number of gaps in my research for this family. More resources have been produced since I first started researching the GULLY family, so I am in the process of filling some of these gaps, but would be grateful for help with other gaps. I've discovered that my 3x great-grandfather, Joseph GULLY, had an elder brother, Thomas. Thomas GULLY, the son of Samuel and Ann, was baptized on 12th. August 1810 at Hanham, GLS. I think I've found I've found him and his wife, Susanna, in the 1851 Bitton census in the household of blacksmith William CASWELL -- Thomas GULLEY (sic), ag lab, 41, and Susanna, 39, both born in Hanham. I can't find a marriage for Thomas and Susanna in the B & A FHS Marriage Index 1813-1837 or in the Bristol Diocese (South Glos) Marriage Registers Vol 11 Groom & Bride Indexes & Transcripts 1837-1901. The thought has crossed my mind that Susanna may have been a second wife. I can find no children for Thomas and Susanna in the B & A FHS resources. So, Thomas GULLY is rather a mystery at the moment Could someone give me an 1841 census reference for Thomas GULLY/GULLEY and his wife in the Oldland/Bitton/Hanham area, please? -- Josephine Jeremiah www.ianandjo.dsl.pipex.com
